Dear BAMf Podcast: Episode 9 with Maria Juan

The Power of Media Relations for Venture Capital Funds

Dear BAMf // Episode 9: Maria Juan, Vice President of Marketing at Peerfit, tackles your healthcare-focused PR questions on maximizing your data, the importance of internal PR for a marketing agency, and best way to share patient experience with the press.

In this week's episode on the Dear BAMf podcast, we sat down with Maria Juan, VP of Marketing at Peerfit. Maria has 10+ years of experience in digital marketing and branding, which helps her generate unique campaigns initiatives to reach a full range of audiences. She shared her thoughts on how to make the data you're given work in your favor:

Dear BAMf,

We have a new partnership announcing a pilot with a large partner, but it's a very small sample size, and data won't be available for one year. How can we maximize this news?

Listen now to hear Maria's insight on how to build a strong, collaborative partnership successfully and how the data can benefit your team in the long run, as well as the best route to take when little nuggets of data trickle in over one year.

Dear BAMf: Episode 9

Episode 9 highlights:

  • (03:05) When working with limited data, focus on the larger-scale benefit and then develop a method for distributing that data in a way that makes sense for your client. How can you incorporate small bits of data into the larger story?
  • (04:50) When pitching media on a prescription-only product, rather than focusing on the limited samples, think about the patient's journey and how you can recreate the patient experience using product demos, testimonials, or other visual representation.
  • (07:12) If an executive team is questioning the power of PR within their agency, make sure to get them involved in the messaging and show them how they compare to competitors.
  • (11:00) When your client is struggling to align on messaging and it's delaying your campaign, try using visuals. Mood boards can help develop the words that best describe the brand.
  • (14:50) For companies experiencing an uptick in business, to avoid sounding tone-deaf amid COVID-19, don't just share your success — share the journey you took to get to the result.
