Here's what we covered.
On May 7, we were joined by Alex Konrad of Forbes, Megan Hernbroth of Business Insider, and Maya Shwayder of Digital Trends for our Ask Media Anything (AMA). We've included a link to the recording here. Thank you to everyone for their questions and participation!
Your media questions answered.
What stories are tech-focused media interested in amid the COVID-19 crisis? Here were the high-level takeaways from the AMA:
- Don't give platitudes and generic answers. You want to give reflective, unique answers, so remember to perfect your "sound bite" before you talk to a reporter. Media training is a good thing.
- Don't underestimate the power of short and concise answers. Remember, if journalists need or want more, they'll ask. It's their job!
- While video chats were first a great alternative to coffee chats, it's now a bit tiresome and feels inauthentic. Instead, offer a new perspective or constructively provide feedback on points you disagree with that the journalist may have written about.
